Project support

In most cases, successful participation in and implementation of international cooperation projects requires advice and support, so the Central Sweden Brussels office has a project advisor to help you. The project advisor is responsible for the Central Sweden region´s transnational cooperation and development contacts and also in charge of coordination work between the principals´ agents and those of other European regions.

We take part in individual consultation meetings in both Sweden and Brussels in an effort to ensure that the criteria for EU project funding are met. At these meetings, which are held several times a year, we always try to promote the best possible implementation of a project concept. For example, one part of a project might be financed out of regional development funds, while other parts might apply for grants from structural funds or transnational programmes.

The aim is to develop a good project concept in such a way that it can actually be implemented. On several occasions, project groups have come to Brussels and held project meetings with partners and relevant officials from the European Commission. In such cases, the Brussels office plays a coordinating role that involves finding the right contacts for representatives of Swedish local authorities. The use of the Central Sweden Brussels Office as a meeting place has been greatly appreciated in this connection.

Advice on funding opportunities
We answer any queries concerning the possibility of securing EU funding for planned projects. We also offer one-on-one consultation by e-mail, telephone and in person, both in Brussels and Sweden, and offer advice on where to apply for funding for projects that may be eligible for subsidies from EU programmes.

Partner searches
Many EU-funded projects require the participation of several European partners, and we at Central Sweden can help you find partners to cooperate on your project. We do this by providing support and proffering advice when you draft advertisements for partners. In addition, we send out requests for partners to other regional offices in Brussels and to the networks of which Central Sweden is a member.

Mediating contacts
To obtain the very latest information and follow developments in the EU, we take part in the work of and are members of several formal and informal networks in Brussels. You too can benefit from this.

Drafting applications
Drafting applications for EU projects is a major undertaking, and we can give you one-on-one advice and support, though we ourselves do not write any applications. Through its EuropaAkademi, Central Sweden can arrange courses on how to draft good applications that are tailored to individual requirements. We also provide contacts with the relevant Commission officials, so that you too can obtain further information on the selection criteria and find out in advance whether your application meets the set criteria.

EU project writers
We know from experience that drafting successful applications can prove difficult, due both to deadline pressures and the knowledge of EU formalities this requires. As stated above, the Central Sweden Brussels Office does not have resources available for actually drafting project applications, but we can provide would-be applicants with a list of companies that will take on the job of doing so (see below). You can contact these companies directly, but please note that the Brussels office does not guarantee the results of any such applications!

Ongoing projects
If you are you working on a project funded by an EU subsidy, please let us know. We would like to keep tabs on projects under way in the three Swedish counties we represent and post your project here on our website so that more people can hear about it. This is a good way of passing on information and a great source of inspiration for more projects and cooperation.
