Monitoring and communicating developments
There´s certainly no shortage of information from and about the EU. So we monitor, filter out and pass on the most important information to you via our homepage, by e-mail, and through our Brussels newsletter News From Brussels. This way you can stay informed about current, hot topics related to your specific areas of interest. Only available in Swedish.
You can find the following information on our homepage under the heading Policy: • Priorities in the political domain. • Possibilities for gaining EU subsidies. General information on current programmes and news. If you give us your e-mail address, we can regularly e-mail you updated information on your specific areas of interest. See below to register. • Applications for partnership from other regions in Europe. We can also send you regular updates by e-mail. See below to register. • A calendar with information on seminars, conferences and thematic days organised by EU institutions. Links to other organisations that monitor current events in the EU are also provided.
News From Brussels The newsletter News From Brussels contains articles on current EU concerns, making it easy for you to keep up-to-date. The newsletter is produced roughly eight times a year and sent to municipal and county policy-makers and officials, as well as to regional associations in the counties of Dalarna, Gävleborg and Örebro. You can register on our homepage.
Reports The many EU-related events arranged in Brussels include conferences, seminars, training courses and information days. Central Sweden monitors these events and writes up reports on issues that are of interest to our region. By prior arrangement, we can monitor and report on an event of particular interest to you, but which you are unable to attend yourself.
Monitoring the news The Current Affairs section on the homepage provides a brief update on the issues attracting the most attention in Brussels right now. We report on current trends and opinions and offer a comprehensive overview of all areas of EU policy. On the Start Page of our website, you can read comments and analyses of the present situation by the office´s Director. When that person travels back to Central Sweden during so-called home weeks, we provide additional information on what is going on and being discussed here in Brussels.
Providing the information you need We regularly publish information on current announcements and publications and appeals for partners in the areas of policy we monitor. So you can keep up to date with the latest developments in:
• Energy and transport policy • The EU´s external relations • R&D and innovation • Health and consumer protection • The information society • Culture and the media • Rural development • Environmental policy • Trade and industry • Regional policy • Legal and domestic policy • Employment and social welfare policy • Education and training.
Please register here if you would you like to receive information on your specific area(s) of interest on an ongoing basis.
Home weeks Representatives of the Central Sweden Brussels Office regularly travel to Sweden to brief EU coordinators, officials and policy-makers on various EU issues. The dates of these visits are listed in the homepage´s Calendar section. You can also book additional meetings to coincide with these dates, for example to obtain project-related advice.
